Somesuch Stories

The theme of the seventh issue of Somesuch Stories Magazine was BONES. I had enormous creative freedom to explore this subject. I wanted to create imagery that evoked reflections on themes we are not usually comfortable discussing, such as life and death, life and the vestiges we leave behind, our inescapable mortality, and the equal beauty of beginnings and ends. I found symbols of “bones” everywhere: skeletons, tree branches, roots, and columns. And I found symbols of natural, peaceful decay in dried leaves and petals and in the subtle goodbyes of embers.

There is no life without death and no bones without the life that once inhabited them.
