Suits

“Suits” features two young Turkish queer artists, one an androgynous garment-maker and stylist and the other a gender-fluid fashion student and drag performer.

I photographed them through different parts of Istanbul as they wore vintage blazers, those reminiscent of the suits worn by many traditional Turkish men all around the country’s capital. The series features the two artists as they interact with one another and as they are juxtaposed against other Turkish men.
The story is meant to showcase the contrast between old and new expressions of masculinity, particularly in a city known for its juggling of modernity and tradition.”
