Travel and Leisure Magazine

Travel and Leisure Magazine commissioned us to capture one of Europe’s most spectacular new hotels, Canfranc Estación.

Canfranc was once the second-largest rail station in Europe. Its structure had cathedral-like proportions, as though it had been erected not merely to facilitate train travel but to worship it. The building closed in 1970 and had been empty ever since. But, in 2024, this long-neglected train station would reopen as an opulent hotel perched on the Spanish Pyrenees.

For this photographic essay, we covered not only the hotel itself, but also its surrounding landscapes, gastronomy, and historic towns. We created a visual journey of an entire region, from Zaragoza to the National Park of Monte Perdido.
